A bit about me.

I'm Scott. I've spent about a decade building software, and somehow I've kept working on the same problem the whole time, even as the names for it changed: computer vision, then visual search, then language models, and now agents. The thread underneath all of it is data. Most products are really just data that matters to someone, handed over in trust, and my job has been building the places where people and that data actually meet.

These days I do that at Customer.io, where I work on our mobile SDKs and our analytics and reporting tools. It's a good pair to sit between: the SDKs are how data gets in from an app, and the reporting side is how people make sense of it once it's there.

Away from the keyboard I'm in Philadelphia with my spouse, our daughter, and a dog who is convinced every walk is the best thing that has ever happened. I buy more books than I finish, tinker with side projects on nights and weekends, and I'm usually rebuilding some corner of this site instead of writing on it.

That's really all this site is. Not a newsletter, not a brand, nothing to sell. Just a place to keep the things I've been chewing on, mostly so I can work out what I actually think.
